ExpoElectronica is the largest international trade fair for the electronic components, PCBs and electronic production both in terms of the number and importance of its exhibitors in Russia and Eastern Europe.

The 17th International trade fair for the electronic components, PCBs and electronic production - ExpoElectronica has taken place from the 15th to 17th of April inMoscow at the Crocus Expo exhibition centre.

The organiser of the event was International Exhibition company PRIMEXPO, which is part of ITE Group, the leaders of the exhibition services market in Russia.

The ExpoElectronica exhibition holds the title of "Best exhibition in Russia" on the subject of electronics and accessories in all categories according to the All-Russian Rating of Exhibitions.

As always, the ExpoElectronica 2014 took place alongside the 12th International exhibition of technologies, equipment and materials for the electronic and electrical industries – ElectronTechExpo.

The 458 exhibiting companies at the event originated in 20 different countries -  Russia, Austria, Great Britain, Germany, Hungary, India, China, Latvia, Norway, Belarus, Singapore, USA, Taiwan, Ukraine, Finland, France, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden and Japan. Group displays from enterprises which are part of the Department of Radio-Electronic Industry, Rostekhnologii State Company and the national stands of China,Taiwan and theUnited kingdom were presented at the exhibition.

The total exhibition area comprised 17 400 sqm, and there were 9176 specialists visitors in total.

More than 25 seminars and presentations, as well as a large number of demonstrations of the most recently developed electronic components, PCBs, electronic production and advanced equipment were part of the business programme at the exhibitions.

On the 16th and 17th of April, the Non-Profit Partnership for Manufacturers of LEDs and LED-based Systems supported the organisation of the 3rd International conference "LEDs: Chips, Production, Materials, Equipment".  More than 80 attendees were present at the conference. Specialists discussed issues in the application of technologies, production processes and ready made solutions as well as the development of the technological process flow.

The round table on "Electronics in high-tech medical diagnostics.  Engineering solutions and application practice" took place for the first time. The event was organised by Ruselectronics, JSC and ELINT SP. The round table participants discussed the latest achievements in modern radio electronics related to the development of medical diagnostics equipment, the development of telemedicine with particular focus on personal telemonitoring in Russia and abroad, as well as the legislative provision for the development of remote medical technologies. 25 specialists were involved in the activities of the round table.

Issues in solar power development as a new industry in the economy were discussed at the round table "Photovoltaics - a new vector of electronic development". The round table featured the participation of producers, scientists, developers, investors and representatives of companies that had experience in the successful implementation of solar power projects. More than 50 specialists gathered at the event, which had the support of the Lomonosov Moscow State University.

The PROF-ARENA at the exhibition featured the first IPC Hand Soldering Competition. 25 specialists took part in the competition. All of the competitors had to hand-assemble a printed circuit assembly within 45 minutes, while ensuring functionality and quality of assembly in accordance with the IPC-A-610E class 3 standard. Dipaul acted as the General Partner of the competition and provided equipment. The Printed Circuit Board Partner of the competition was NCAB Group, while DIAL acted as Components Partner.  The winner of the competition was Svetlana Tkacheva from Mikrolit LLC, Elvira Sayfutdinova from Submikron Scientific Research Institute OJSC was in 2nd place and the 3rd place was awarded to Antonina Golovanova from the NPK SPP OJSC branch in Veliky Novgorod.
